Reggie is a legend, no doubt. Fountain has the best hull and rigging for any production boat. But, their deck design and construction process is too old. I surveyed an ’02 and it had plywood. If you could take the Fountain hull, and marry it to modern deck design and manufacturing, then stop building spec… you’d have company for the times. Fountain needs a complete retooling.

There’s no comparison between Fountain and any other V bottom mfg in Offshore racing. Fountain has dominated SuperV for the last 20 years. A Fountain hull won the Powerboat P1 Evolution class World Championship the last two years. How many WCs had Cigarette won? How many WCs has Outerlimits won?

steeve curtis was a world champion on formula one off shore powerboats a throttle man n his boat was powered by 2 lamborgini 4 L’ petrol engines n a really nice bloke to talk to he was with an italian team also another Brit/italian collaboration with Fabio buzzy n the really great bearded British navigator forgoten his name now n together they won the cows race 2 years running on a MONOHULL with twin seatreak diesels 1600 HP 8L engines the race was west 100 miles a rest refuel n back again

He engineered none of those designs. The plane wedge was designed by marlin marine in clyst st. Mary Exeter Devon UK as was the “stepped Transom” (moulded gill bracket).You want to talk to the master, Talk to Steve Curtis Of class 1 fame.

Reggie is a legend,won more races then anyone dead or alive,imagine running over 100mph for hours back in the 70′s.Raced all around the world, wealthy and still works everyday all day. When his boats are racing he’s in a helicopter, talking with driver and throttleman, a true legend.I personally am against him buying Baja, but he knows something we don’t, so we’ll see in a couple of years something cutting edge from the man with a plan.

Reggie is a very nice guy, and one of a good boat maker. Me and Reggie III had some great times back in high school trying to jump the Fountain’s Subarban and my Dodge Diesel around school in Kinston. My dad and I took several test rides in these boats and there is nothing like them.
