How can I get my swag from Sailing World magazine?
Author: admin
Last year when a new chief editor took over at Sailing World he started a new program to try to generate some letter to the editor correspondenceby offering a "Letter of the month" contest. Last spring a letter that I wrote was picked for letter of the month and was given a special box for my letter in the issue and it said I would receive soma sailing World swag. I’m still waiting for it.
You would get a better answer writing to the magazine.

I’ve got an Oregon boating license and I was wondering if I can use it in Texas. So can I?
I would say yes.Why couldn’t you,you don’t have to get a Texas drivers license when you drive through. As long as you have a Oregon drivers license
What kind of commission can I ask for in boat sales?
Author: admin
I’ve been building them for years but recently I’ve been approached to help sell another guys fleet of varied new and used small craft. I willing to give it a try but what kind of commission would be fair to ask for?
What I’d do is figure what the minimum price that you can sell the boat for, then add a fair commission, say 5%, then set a higher asking price. I’d do this for every boat in inventory. Then agree on a split if you get the asking price, like 40-60 to the owner. That gives you a minimum amount and an incentive to get the best price for the other guy.
Just curious as to how long someone can go out and enjoy a day of boating on an 80 gallon tank of gas. Boat is a Baja 23 Outlaw.

Heading Out The Ultimate Fishing Boat
Author: admin
You and your family are heading out early in the morning for a day of fishing in your brand new fishing boat. You hit that highway that leads to the lake, excited voices echoing throughout your SUV. Your wife and kids are just as delighted with the new boat as you are and are discussing the whopper they hope to catch. You arrive at the lake, launch the runabout that contains the entire family’s fishing gear and in no time at all, you are skimming across the water, every family member safely encased in a lifejacket. You just know that this is going to be a great family outing and everyone loves the new fishing boat. A fishing boat can be anything between a canoe where you dangle basic bait over the side in a river or stream to a powerful cabin cruiser or yacht. Basically, all you need to get out onto the water is a vessel that is seaworthy. There are a large variety of fishing boats available on today’s market. You can buy them at boat shows, fishing shows or dealerships. Let’s look at some different types of fishing boats.
Freshwater Fishing Boats
If you enjoy fishing in freshwater rivers, lakes and streams, leave the big, powerful boats for someone else. Choose a fiberglass or aluminum boat that is lightweight and easy to transport. A bowrider, runabout, walleye boat or a boat with a small or dual console will meet all of your freshwater fishing needs. These boats are perfect for family outings.
Bass Boats
Bass boats ride low in the water and are usually very colorful and extremely fast. They can be aluminum or fiberglass and most often they are equipped with platforms in both the bow and stern for easy casting. If you’ve always dreamed of owning the perfect bass boat, be sure to buy one that has a trolling motor mounted on the bow. These boats are mainly used for sport fishing and tournament fishing.
Offshore Saltwater Boats
If you enjoy heading out on the open sea for a day of saltwater fishing that includes huge fish and heavy tackle, you will need a heavy boat that is dependable and can be relied on in all situations and weather. Anything less than a cuddy cabin or center console that’s equipped with either twin or single outboard motors will not fit the bill. The high end of an offshore saltwater boat is a bluewater or convertible that comes complete with luxury quarters and elaborate salons. These boats should be equipped with inboard diesel engines that have maximum power.
As we know, car insuranrce is difficult to calculate that the cost on auto insurance is usually very larger deal and currency trading can solve your problem.
Bareboat charters are yachts that you can rent and operate by yourself. If you are not experienced in handling a yacht, you can hire a captain to take over this job for you. The idea behind a bareboat charter is that you do not get any extras – just the bare boat. You have to supply your own food and entertainment and if you want toys for watersports you either have to bring your own or rent them. Most of the bareboat yachts are between 30 and 50 feet in length and you can choose bareboat charters using power, sailing or catamaran boats.
In order to book bareboat charters without hiring a captain, the yacht charter company will need to see proof that you can handle the yacht on your own. You will either have to show the bareboat yacht charter company proof of your experience in handling smaller or similar sized yachts or present a certificate from a boating course. For most yacht charters in the Caribbean, companies do not require certification, but it is a requirement in some parts of the world, such as Greece. If you do need to hire a captain, this is not included in the price of the charter and you have to pay the captain yourself.
There are bareboat charters that will allow you to book a one-way charter. This allows you to sail to a destination and leave the yacht there. This will cost you more because unless someone books a one-way bareboat yacht charter back from that destination the company has to find a way of getting the yacht back to home base. It is quite likely that it will be cheaper on you to charter the yacht for a few extra days and return it yourself.
You can make your booking for a bareboat yacht charter online. However, you will need to make at least a 25% deposit on the total cost of the charter and there are bareboat charters that require 50% of the total as a deposit. You will also receive a contract to sign and a sailing resume to complete from the yacht charter company.

Beautiful Swiss Lakes: Thunersee boat trip
Author: admin
Our day trip on the Thunersee aboard the Bluemlisalp paddle boat with a quick stop in Interlaken. This steam paddle wheel boat was originally built in 1905 and restored in recent years to its old glory. It’s really beautiful inside as well with an old-fashioned looking restaurant, bar, lots of deck seating and of course the old engine which you can watch. Really much more fun to go across the lake on this ship rather than one of the new, modern boats.
